Wie manche von euch ja schon per Twitter oder so wissen, geh ich im Herbst für einige Zeit ins britische Ausland, und werde da auch wahrscheinlich meinen Abschluss aka A-Level machen. Eine Schule hab ich ja schon, und jetzt hab ich auch endlich die eM@il vom registrar zur Fächerwahl bekommen. Hier ist sie:

I have noted from your record your possible choices are:
Maths. Physics, Biology & 1 other.
(the German exam can be taken in addition without lessons within the timetable)
Please email your choice by Monday 15 March.
Some changes to the options may be possible after this date, but it must be understood that the curricular decisions will be made on the basis of choices submitted and that not all combinations of subjects will be possible.
We are looking for FOUR subjects, which must be one from each block.

Im Anhang war dann natürlich noch der “Wahlzettel”.

But the question is: What to choose? Auf dem Wahlzettel steht ja schon ein bisschen drauf, aber wie kommt man drauf?

Also klar war: Mathe braucht man. Ist quasi Pflicht, damit der Abschluss in D als solcher akzeptiert wird. Also im ersten Block (Nora, die by the way in England auch ihr A-Level macht, konnt aus allen 4 aussuchen, ohne Blöcke :S) schonmal Mathe. Im zweiten hört sich ne Menge gut an: Business, German (< – leichte eins ) und Physics. German fällt raus, da ich die Eins sowieso bekomme, der Registrar hat ja schließlich geschrieben

Von daher: Physic oder Business (Rechnungswesen, Wirtschaftswissenschaft, Finanzwirtschaft und Marketing aka “Absatzwesen” auf gut Deutsch). Ich muss mich quasi (Ich mag “quasi” =D) jetzt entscheiden, was ich studieren will. Also mal im Flyer für die englische Oberstufe nachgeguckt. Da steht bei Business:

Why choose this subject?

Business activity affects us all, whether as consumers, employees, shareholders, savers, borrowers or entrepreneurs. The importance of its influence on our lives is ever-growing and changing. All students, whatever career they choose to pursue, will be affected by what is studied in Business Studies. The subject prepares students for the world of work in general and for a variety of business-related careers or higher education courses. Students are given the opportunity to develop creative and analytical thinking through investigating businesses and markets, analysing business systems, proposing improvements to business activities, investigating the importance of financial forecasting, investigating the external environment and its effects on business and investigating the growing importance of international trading.

Und bei Physics:

The AS course will provide a satisfying experience for the student who chooses to take it as part of a broad post 16 curriculum. At the same time it will provide a sound foundation for the second year A Level examinations. There will be opportunities to: develop practical skills; practise data-handling skills; increase understanding of the part that mathematics plays in physics; use imagination; place physics in a social or historical context and argue about issues that arise; be rewarded for initiative and interest in learning; use information and communication technology.

Naja. Business scheint sich so mehr zu lohnen, auch wenn Physik mich wirklich interessiert, und da auch der Aspekt des ICT (siehe später) vorkommt, aber wird wohl doch Business Studies. Bringt iwie mehr..

Block 3. Doofer Block. Naja, cih spiel Keyboard, und als ich mir die Schule angeguckt hab, hatten die da schon schickes Equipment. Wird da dann halt Music Technology (Schade, dass HIER nicht Business steht. Aber in zwei & drei. Toll)

Block 4 – Business hab ich schon, und ein bisschen Spaß will ich auch haben. Deshalb ICT. IT (Informatik) + Extra nochmal Communication-Technology dazu.

Und ich denke, that’s it! Wharscheinlich werde ich nochmal mit einem sprechen der schon da war (Und jetzt Physik studiert), aber viel ändern wird sich da nichts mehr.
